The product:

Graphic Arts Scanner Mounting Fluid. A petroleum based product with high anti-static properties. SXL Scanner Mounting Fluid is non-toxic, non cacinogenic, however, highly flammable. Compliance to OSHA Standards, EPA approved. Use only for scannerdrums made of acrylmaterial or on glass in flatbed scanner.

The application:

Economical Graphic Arts Scanner Mounting Fluid for transparency to drum mounting or on glass in flatbed scanner. Can be used in 98 % of all scanning jobs and increases productivity by 30 % as compared to oil mounting. Use as oil. Ideal for double oiling with cover sheet or single scan. No limit on enlargement, no clean-up either. Wipe over drum and start next mounting. SXL is free of grease and oil and contains no alcohol. In application, only tape the leading edge of transparencies in a row, squirt a few drops of SXL between drum and transparencies, pull cover sheet over, apply a few drops between cover sheet and transparencies, work likewise arount the cylinder. Before taping up bottom of cover sheet, squirt a few more drops of SXL below cover, seal tightly all sides. Proceed as if mounted in oil. After scanning remove all, wipe over drum with highly absorbent wiper once and start next mounting. (Try our lint-free =KAMI= Soft Reinigungstuch). Even the application of drum cleaner is not required. Wipe dry or air dry transparencies. No messy clean-up as with oil. Greatly improves productivity.

Useful hints:

SXL Scanner Mounting Fluid is filled up in PET-G or in PVC bottles. The bottle is shaped to fit your hand. The squirt top releases very litte at a time. This is intended. Be frugal, KAMI products go a long way. Pre-mounting of up to two days ahead of scanning is possible. Just seal tightly all around, SXL evaporates.

The product:

Graphic Arts Scanner Mounting Gel, a petroleum based liquid for small transparency to drum and flatbed scanner mounting. Porperties as oil, yet oil and grease free. Prevents newton ring formation and adds no grain to original – even at extreme enlargements. SC Scan Fluid is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, however, flammable. Compliance to OSHA Standards, EPA approved. Use only for scannerdrums made of acrylmaterial or on glass in flatbed scanner.

The application:

This one of the finest oil replacements on the market. It is a problem sovler, fills in surface scratches and works extremely well on super enlargements of several 1000 percent. Highly recommended for single, top quality scans. Single or double oiling application possible. To apply, tape the leading edge of transparency, squirt a few drops of SC to the drum surface. Pull transparency tightly over drum. SC will spread out evenly. For lager original, repeat SC application to cover total surface. This liquid will not bubble, or creep out into corners. However, tape tightly all around. Proceed as if mounted in oil. After scanning remove all, wipe over drum with highly absorbent wiper once and start next mounting. (Try our lint-free =KAMI= Soft Reinigungstuch). The application of drum cleaner is optional and mostly not required. Wipe dry transparencies. No messy clean-up as with oil. Greatly improves productivity.

Useful hints:

SC Scan Fluid comes in a small PET-G bottle with sealed top. Cut same to be able to release just a few drops at a time. The gel looks withish cloudy. The appearance is inherent due to the manufacturing process, which takes 8 hours in highspeed blending machinery. Pre-mounting of up to two days ahead of scanning is possible. Just seal tightly all around, SC evaporates. When not in use for a day or more, close bottle and store inside refrigerator. This material is temperature sensitive and will otherwise solidify.

The product:

Graphic Arts Scanner Mounting Spray for transparencies and reflective artwork, c-prints. Recommended for enlargements of up to 400 %. Immediately eliminates any newton ring effects and grain formation. SX Scannex is a petroleum and resin based aerosol. Propellent: Propane, Butane, NON-FLUOROCARBON. It is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, however, highly flammable. Compliance to OSHA Standards, EPA aspproved.

The application:

Shake well before applying. Either spray evenly and directly to contact side of transparency from a distance of 15“ to 20“ – use little – apply just a fine mist, or better yet, spray SX Scannex in the air and pull transparency or c-print through the misty air. Let it dry for approx. 2 minutes and proceed to scanner drum mounting as ussual. After usage, turn can up-side down and clear the inside tube, hence preventing nozzle clogging with resin particles. All residue of SX Scannex can easily be removed with a few drops of DRL Transparency-Cleaner.

The product:

DC is a 100 % alcohol-free substance, formulated exclusively for the purpose of cleaning acrylic scanner drums. DC cleans the drum immediately from all residues, e.g. oil, PVR, SC, SXL, mounting tape residue and dirt. DC is a petroleum based product, non toxic, non carcinogenic, however, highly flammable – very economical in application. Compliance to OSHA Standards, EPA approved. Use only for scannerdrums made of acrylmaterial.

The application:

Apply a few drops to a lint and scratch-free wiper and wipe over the drum lightly – possibly repeat a few times. Leave the drum slightly moist, DC will evaporate within two minutes. Polishing the drum will offset the anti-static effect.

Useful hints:

Do not finish off by buffing or polishing with dry or nearly dry wiper. This is especially true when cleaning the inside of a large diameter drum. Under conditions with low humidity, this could result in a momentary flash fire.

The product:

A Graphic Arts Scanner Mounting Tape, especially formulated for wet-mounting to drum or on glass; using petroleum based liquids. The adhesive of this tape will not dissolve when in contact with KAMI SXL Scanner Mounting Fluid or KAMI SC Scan Fluid. Premounting several days ahead is no problem. This tape is residue free on glass or acrylic surfaces.

The application:

Use as any conventional tape, pull tight and press on to drum. Make sure, mounting is sealed completely all-around. Premounting, up to two days ahead is no problem. Removing tape, adhesive will stay on the tape, hence drum cleaning will be easy. Try our DC Drum Cleaner.

Useful hints:

Using our SC Scan Fluid or SXL Scanning Mounting Fluid for wet-mounting, please apply very little of these substances. Too much is detrimental. However, if you did, just wipe off excess liquid with highly absorbent wipe and apply tape. It works very well. This is impossible to do using oil. Use our lint-free =KAMI= Soft Reinigungstuch wipers.
